We are absolutely thrilled to have picked up a silver for Best Awards Event Production at the Awards Awards.

Broadsword’s entry was based on BIFA – the British Independent Film Awards. Each December, Awards Season, Christmas and the British Independent Film Industry merge to provide us with a perfect storm of an event.  The stars literally align on the red carpet at Old Billingsgate for a glittering celebration of British film where you don’t need a Hollywood budget to find yourself sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in movies.

Expanding our horizons

Posted by  Anna Green on March 26, 2019

We wanted to drop you an update as 2019 has certainly started with high profile happenings and a series of flagship events.

We were proud to work alongside two new clients. Kimberly-Clark invited 400 sales colleagues to London for three days. We worked with TW Creative and transformed the conference space at Twickenham Stadium with a main plenary room and interactive product stands in the breakout space. The second, a financial company based in London, took over the Langham Hotel for two days. We created a main space (with 19m wide x 4m high LED wall!) and 18 concurrent breakout rooms, as well as rebranding much of the hotel and providing wayfinding to four floors. We additionally managed and produced content for an interactive event app, which linked into our badging solution.

They will be responsible for taking events from initial brief through to delivery, sitting at the heart of a project and pulling together all the necessary resources to produce a brilliant show.

Here’s their take on their next step.

Prince Albert was the driving force behind a great display of the Victorian belief in progress, the Great Exhibition of 1851. The idea of international exhibitions was then quite new, and Albert had to overcome quite a lot of opposition, some of it extremely silly. The exhibition building was an enormous glass hall – the Crystal Palace – in Hyde Park. Inside were machinery and manufacturers from Britain, the Empire and other countries.

Knights at the Museum

Posted by  Anna Green on November 12, 2018

Ever wondered what it's like to set up an event in a museum?

There are times every month when some might mistake the Broadsword team for night watchmen, keys jangling at the waist and a Maglite in hand, purposefully plotting our way through plans and paperwork amidst the eerie dark of a London museum at night.
